3 day In-class Project Management Course


"Master Class in Project Management" brings the world of projects and project management to you, equipping you with the tools and techniques to lead projects to success.

Companies need project managers, and projects need trained project managers, as many projects are overdue, too expensive, or never ended, leading to significant losses not only financially, but also relationally. 


General Description of the Course

This course brings the necessary knowledge to successfully lead projects and give a competitive advantage to yourself, the projects you participate in, or your company.

The three-day course focuses on project selection, definitions specific to project management, the project management process divided into 10 clear steps containing the definition of the project (charter), the planning of the project and the critical path method (e.g., PERT charts, Gantt, budgets, risk management), the closing of the project, and finally the introduction to Agile and Critcal Chain Project Management. Everything is supplemented with practical exercises, case studies, and discussions.

The course is typically taught in English or Dutch (Flemish), but we are open to discussing other languages. All course materials are in English.


Detailed Course Program - Day 1

  • Introduction to the course and testing expectations,
  • Project selection parameters and objective decision models,
  • Definitions and terminology,
  • Project management process and the 10 step process,
  • Drafting a project charter with application to a project of your choice.


Detailed Course Program - Day 2

  • Overview of the process steps regarding planning,
  • Project requirements, project scope, and construction of a Work Breakdown Structure,
  • Identification of tasks including estimating duration and cost,
  • Determining the interdependencies,
  • Building a project schedule (PERT charts)
  • Critical pat method (determining the critical pat)
  • Software application based on ProjectLibre®
  • Adding resources (people, equipment and materials)
  • Practical applications


Detailed Course Program - Day 3

  • Determining the project budget,
  • Risk management. Processes and tools,
  • Execution of the project and project follow-up,
  • Evaluating project progress,
  • Closing the project and tasks to be carried out and reports,
  • Introduction of adaptive project methods such as Scrum, Kanban and Agile
  • The Critical Chain Project Management method
  • Practical exercises, e.g. project execution, evaluation of project progress, discussions
  • Closing the course.
